Wildfire with structures endangered 9-20-15

SWFD units are working along side Florida Forestry units to contain a brushfire in the vicinity of Crawfish Alley in Santa Rosa Beach. Forestry is cutting a line around the fire and SWFD is protecting homes and structures that are endangered. Please use caution in the area.

SWFD crews along with the Florida Forest Service (FFS) have now contained this forty plus acres wildland fire that occurred near the Crawfish Alley neighborhood off of Church St. in Santa Rosa Beach.
Due to the dense, thick and marshy vegetation the fire was initially difficult to access. However the four tractors that FFS quickly deployed were instrumental in limiting and containing the fire spread.
You may see residual smoke in the area ,however if you see fire please call 9-1-1. This fire is currently under investigation by FFS officials.
