The Cultural Art Alliance of Walton County and its A+ Art Committee created the "Top of the Class" Juried Art Exhibition to provide a forum for local artists to share their talents with the community and bring art to public places to complement public buildings and beautify public spaces. The art exhibition, currently on display at the South Walton Campus of the Northwest Florida State College, features 30 new, original works by local artists.

Cynthia Hollis, director of 621 Gallery in Tallahassee, was charged with the difficult task of judging this exhibit. Award winners were announced at the opening reception on October 19th and we would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the winners and thank all of the participants and sponsors.

This years Best in Show was awarded to Mara Viksnins for "Tickling the Ivories". Along with a $500 cash prize, Mara will be provided the opportunity to do a solo show this summer. We will be announcing more about the show in the future.
