It's been more than 30 years since I've been there. I suppose one's memory of a place never allows for the growth that occurs.

Scary story about the banana. I bet it did give you guys a good laugh once it was over. :rotfl:

:clap_1: pgurney!!! My son went to Idaho to ski with friends, but missed the day they went to Yellowstone. I saw some of their pics and they were breathtaking! I can't imagine seeing it in person during the winter!

Sueshore, it was breathtaking. I've never been there before, but I imagine the winter is the time to see it. As I mentioned in that other thread the contrasts of hot and cold are so unbelievable. Pictures don't do it justice - you can't capture cold, and I mean really cold, on film.

The Gros Ventres valley outside of Jackson Hole was even better in a way. Much more wildlife and a different type of scenery, plus snowmobiling. We didn't get to snowmobile Yellowstone because it was so cold.
