The Bay

The Bay is an award-winning, family-friendly waterfront restaurant and bar serving up Southern gulf coast cuisine and sushi. It's a SoWal gem sitting directly on the Choctawhatchee Bay at the foot of the 331 bridge.

The Chef Jim Shirley eatery is open daily for lunch, dinner, and drinks, as well as Sunday Brunch. The Bay offers table and bar seating inside, outside on the covered deck, or on the bayside beach overlooking one of the most peaceful views in South Walton.

Lunch and dinner is served 11AM until close, featuring everything from Thai Shrimp Lettuce Wraps, Edamame Hummus, burgers and salads to char-grilled steaks, Faux Ya Ya (Shirley’s famous shrimp & grits), Gulf Fish or a Seafood Platter loaded with fried oysters, blackened shrimp and grilled fish. Available after 4PM, sushi is made fresh to order and never disappoints! Indoor and outdoor bars showcase a 12-draft beer system, excellent wine selections, inventive hand-crafted cocktails, and several big screens to to cheer on your favorite sports team. 

The Bay features an excellent happy hour, Sunday Funday with brunch and Sunday Pickin’, and every Wednesday night, the beach shines with a cozy fire and some of the best live music in the Panhandle. Each season brings celebration and special events to the bayside restaurant.
