What about bobcats? Mrs skunk claims to have seen a big cat, roughly the size of a small cocker spaniel on east Mitchell near the bay:shock:

If you must know, about two weeks ago the cops were called to a house on Bay Drive (Daughette's s/d). Daughette's is surrounded on the south and west by many acres of State Forest. Two dogs had treed a big cat. This was no ordinary cat. According to the homeowners, the animal was identified as a cross between a Florida Panther and a Bobcat. I was told the common name of the animal, but I cannot recall it. The cops took photos of the animal and said they get calls regarding them on occasion. Perhaps it just took a wrong turn, or maybe it was coming into the neighbor hood for some easy prey. As approximately 40% of the land in SoWal is State Forests, so this news of wildlife is not too surprising.

We live down the road in "The Woods" and have had alot of neighbors cats turn up missing recently. Coyotes must be lurking in the state forest.
Coyotes do lurk in the area, but they typically eat small rodents, and would most likely not be quick enough to catch a cat, esp considering the vast numbers of trees around.

Yeah, that might be the animal she saw. According to her description it was like a lanky bobcat or a tubby panther;was colored black. I was poking around the new development behind the cottage and noticed about 4-5 buzzards circling the woods further east along the bay-maybe the big cats leftovers?:dunno: I am surprised the cops didn't blast the cat out of the tree like they did that whale:bang:

We found them!!! A neighbor from down the road saw them and called me after seeing my sign! They are OK just dirty, hungry and tired!
Thank you!!!

:clap_1: I'm so glad! I lost one of mine for about 3 hours the other day. I was a mess until he was found! I am so happy they found their way home! :clap_1:
