Over Christmas break we will be spending a few days in Chattanooga and Asheville. Anyone have any "must sees" in either of these towns that we shouldn't miss? Thanks!

The Biltmore House and Grove Park Inn in Asheville. The Grove Park hosts a gingerbread house competiton and they are all on display through the holiday's. The Inn itself is beautiful. The Biltmore House is beyond words at this time of year. Simply beautiful.

If you have time go downtown and take a walking tour of the downtown area. Wonderful restaurants, art galleries and shops of all description.

Of course a drive on the BlueRidge Parkway is always Grayt as well.

Enjoy!:clap_1:

I'll defer to River Otter for the 'Nooga. I know he'll have lots of funn things to share. ;-)

The aquarium is supposed to be great in the Nooga and as a kid i always enjoyed Look Out Mountain..but I'm sure RO will have the best suggestions.

The Aquarium is a must along with the IMax Theater(re)? and forgive me for not remembering if you have kids but the Creative Discovery Museum is great too. They are all downtown within blocks of each other. There are also tons of great restaurants downtown and I can direct you to those too.

Speaking of downtown.... park down by the Aquarium and walk around. Take a walk on the Riverwalk which will take you up on the Walnut Street Bridge and then you can walk over to the "Northshore" where the Shops on Frazier Ave. and Cooledge Park are located. Got great restaurants, art shops, clothes shops and hippy shops (my fav :D ).

Also on the Riverwalk is the Bluffview Art District where the Hunter Museum of Art, some sculpture gardens, restaurants, coffee houses and some of the best views in the city.

Also the Southern Bell River boat in off the Riverwalk as is the Water Taxie.

I have not been to the Choo Choo so I can't realy speak to that.

Rock City is now covered in Christmas Lights ala Clark Griswald. The kids love it.

Here are older pics of the Waterfront and Cooledge. PM me with any questions. I'd love to help.

Things have changed a bunch since these pics were taken. There is even more to see and more ice cream & coffee shopes. Hope this helps a little

Thanks everyone for the great info. In Chattanooga we are staying in downtown near the IMAX theater, so it sounds like we'll be close to all the action. Chattanooga seems like it has many of the great city advantages, but isn't too big. I love all the pictures, thanks RiverOtter! We'll have 10-13 year olds with us and it sounds like we'll find enough to keep them occupied. Any restaurant recommendations for downtown Chattanooga?
