no, i was just wondering if i could possibly be annoying her as much as she is annoying me. i don't feel like i am a loud person

So I have this neighbor that lives up stairs from me. We will call her "Stampy" anyway Stampy loves to stamp around on her hardwood floors. Oh I forgot to mention she starts stampn' around at about 1 and does it all night complete with vacuuming and running up and down the stairs to do laundry and playing fetch with her dog. Last night she was talking some "mad trash" about me on the telephone and her voice can be heard quite well in my apartment. Apparently she is waiting for me to get in her face

Jessifunn, maybe the reason she's making such a ruckus--and I don't believe she's oblivious to what she's doing--is because she can hear you as well as you can hear her and she's simply doing tit for tat. This is her passive-aggressive way of taking her angst out on you. I mean, who vacuums and does laundry in the middle of the night? Even night owls spend the night in front of the TV set. They don't do chores. Your neighbor is sending you a message loud and clear that she's mad at you about something.
I personally think it must all be in her head, however. You are the quiet person you say you are. I think she hears voices and blames it on the closest person around, which unfortunately happens to be you.

next time she is doing laundry throw some skunk (not skunky) pi$$ pellets in the washer - she'll LOVE that....
I think you need to talk to her face-to-face. I have total confidence in your abilities on this one. No bullhorn necessary- I'm sure she will be quite the wuss and you will have complete control of the situation. Bad living situations are just too stressful to let continue.
