Did anyone see Owen Sauders at the Grammy's??? Steele Mama, I know you were watching. I did notice when he was in town on Thursday that he had a beard trim and haircut.

I thought *all* the performances fairly lackluster, but I've never much been into crooning. I like the Dixie Chicks but agree that "Crazy" should have won.
I liked Bailey Rae and John Mayer. Mango, Big Boi is one of the guys in Outkast.
I fell asleep still waiting for the Chili Peppers to come on.
The best music was all the commercials, it was basically the soundtrack to my youth. All the tunes I loved so much now market products on television. ;-)
Not sure what this says about the baby boomer generation, but somehow I do not see it as complimentary.

Cil--mr. dd says the same thing about all the songs from our youth. it's true...maybe it just means that there's not many good jingle writers out there these days? Or, maybe the baby boomers are the targeted market, and the think we will wax nostalgic when we hear those tunes and buy their products? It certainly seems to be a trend.

Yes, it is indeed a trend, and I suppose the advertising people would not use it if it didn't work. But I myself am in no hurry to buy a Caddy simply because Led Zep has sold out. ;-)
The funny thing is, some people like Dan Hicks, Jack White, Mark Mothersbaugh have indeed written jingles and such but keep a fairly low profile about it.
I actually have more respect for those guys than for The Who or Led Zeppelin.

I have been trying to find the results- did they win the award? What was the exact category- I have been searching!?! This was driving me crazy all yesterday- was crossing my fingers, but couldn't find anything!!

Yeah, I really thought Crazy or Put Your Record On should have won too.

Not Ready to Make Nice just really wasn't that great of a song! Not to mention, the whole re-hashing of the "incident" every single time they're in public is getting really old.
ck, ditto on both counts. I also would have been happy to see Imogen Heap win, I love her.

Jenay, David Davis and the Warrior River Boys were nominated for best bluegrass album:
