I loved collecting shells on Sanibel Island. I brought home buckets and buckets. It was on our honeymoon and I had never been to the gulf. Those shells have come in handy with decorating, crafts and school work. Sam did a science fair project of shell classification. I had a postcard of Florida seashells and we found every one. She mounted and labeled all the shells on posterboard. It was definitely one of the most fun projects the kids have done.

We have a jillion shells from Sanibel also. I've made about as much shell crafts as anyone can take so Beach Bummette is going to be accepting a donation. (Hooray!) Between Sunny Daze's haul and a basket or two from me, BB should have her tabbly fireplace in no time.
Our builder said it will be one of the last things done....the frame is already in place.

Sunny Daze sent me some gorgeous ones from Sanibel....I can't believe she called those her "throw aways!" It is going to be a very special fireplace....'cause it will have so muchin it.
You're welcome. I'm glad all the Sanibel shell foraging expeditions will be put to good use. I have a real soft spot for tabby. Can't wait to see it when it's all done!!
