6gen - I never said these guys were saints. far from it! but, they have worked hard for civil rights and racial equality in a very tough world for longer than you have lived. that is my opinion, and it is my observation. yours will be quite different, no doubt. and let's just leave it at that. none of us will ever know or even imagine the struggle of activists in their work to make a real difference in the lives of millions. but I understand that the reverends are easy targets - and their personalities and styles make them so. I do get that.Um, ok. You don't have to be consistent. What about Jackson and Sharpton? Why are they allowed to make racist statements, use derogatory terms towards Jews, incite riots that kill people, blackmail corporations? Why are they a moral authority?
I know this is off the subject, but I couldn't believe the other day I was talking to someone about selling their boat for them, and I told them that we raise the list price a bit because people that are interested will always want a bargain and offer less. This ass had the audacity to say "yeah, I know they'll want to jew me down". I couldn't believe it. I was offended and I am not jewish. what is this, 1945?![]()
Go rent "Gone With The Wind", and you may change your mind. The most seemingly civil, decent, educated, classy people in the country owned slaves. Thomas Jefferson and George Washington....would you describe these people in the former or latter category?Players spitting on umpires ... a basketball ref challenging an NBA player to fight ... rappers ... politicians who stop at nothing to discredit another ... a student shoots 32 classmates ... "F" The President bumper stickers ... Kid Rock ... Don Imus, a pathetic offender who apparently died years ago but never realized it ... "Please" and "Thank you" non-existent ... what next?
Whatever happened, my friends, to decency, civility and class?
