Going to a friend's 40th birthday party tomorrow night. No gifts allowed unless they are homemade. I was thinking a 40th birthday-themed mix tape. I have a few songs so far, but I need suggestions! Couple of ideas I have: "Get the Party Started" by Pink and "You've Got the Look" by Prince. Your turn.

Hey Pea think of songs from when the birthday guy/gull was in high school..so that would be 1981-1985. You could probably research this on the net and find just the right songs, grayt idea by the way!!:D

Lily Allen - "Friday Night"

The message of this song is pretty much, "Let's have another drink and beat the crap the totally stuck-up girl across the bar."

But, geez, it's so catchy.

Also: Frou Frou - "Holding out for a Hero"

Is there a theme? Or just great party music?

Sorry. I just re-read your post. It's a 40th bd theme.

Stir It Up - Bob Marley and the Wailers
Ooooh, good one, and I won't have to pay 99 cents for it since I own it already. ^5!

Yeah, I can look up the Top 100 charts, good idea. Mr. Pod suggested putting a song in there from the year she was born.
Cindy Lauper, Chaka Khan, Three 6 Mafia :rotfl:
Cindy Lauper, definitely. "Girls Just Want to Have Fun," and maybe some more 80s standards.

Lily Allen cracks me up, PV! Love her and her attitude. I'll check out "Hero," can you believe I haven't heard that? Sorry, Immy.
Thanks, guys! Keep 'em coming!
