I didn't know quite where to post this, so if it needs to be moved, please do. I have a friend that is the wife of a military dog-handler. The wives have been doing fundraisers on base and in the North end of Walton and Okaloosa counties to pay for a memorial for our working military dogs. The proposed date of installation is Sept. 2007 at the Air Armament Museum-a public museum near Eglin AFB in Fort Walton Beach. These dogs save the lives of Airmen, Soldiers, and Sailors in both battle and peacetime. The Air Force trains all of the working dogs for our military personnel. I am wondering if anyone has some good ideas for a fundraiser in SoWal? I know that we are just as appreciative of working dogs as are people in the North. Also, if anyone is interested they can go to www.militaryworkingdogmemorial.com and make an online donation. The donations can be made by Corporate Sponsors, Personal Donations, or donations in honor of, or in memory of a special person or pet. I'm hoping that we can help honor the our four-legged friends that save the lives of loved ones every day.
