What were they thinking?

So, my granddaughter and I are at the Ft Panic beach yesterday late...she has her sand pail, shovel, towel and I have my beach chair....we get up to play in the waves and when we come back:

Someone has draped a half closet full of clothes over my chair, parked an overflowing beach bag by my chair and this crowd of people are standing there yapping.

Turns out they were there for a photographer. White shirts, etc.

One of the men in the group said, "Oh, we put our stuff on your chair....."

No "Im sorry, Excuse me..." Nothing. And then as my granddaughter and I tried to reclaim our space on the beach....they continued to stand there discussing which shirt to wear for which picture!

The beach was not particularly crowded...it was 6 p.m. What a rude bunch of people! It was hard to explain to a 4 year old -- she kept asking why did those people take your chair, Granma....they didn't even ask permission!

I swear some people park their manners and their brains at the state line....:bang:

i would have dumped their stuff on the sand and taken back my chair and my beach spot

Sounds like the route I would've gone.

Some people have such a distorted sense of entitlement, it just makes me want to puke.

Those people knew they were going to have a lot of things to set down.... they should've brought their own $&*# chairs.

I did reclaim the chair (and tried to reclaim the space), but believe me, if my little grand had not been with me, I would've given them a piece of my mind --in terms I did not want her to hear her Granma use!

At 4 she has more manners in her little finger than all those white-shirted adults combined!

MY biggest pet peeve:

BAD TABLE MANNERS.

I have lost a few 'friends' and one boyfriend after I couldn't stand going out to eat with them. I mean- eating/talking with your mouth open/full of food, elbows on the table, stabbing/sholveling your food, sticking fingers in cheese dip, etc... OMG. It makes me cringe. :yikes:
Me, too. I hate it when people shovel by starting a new bite before they've swallowed the previous one. I hate it when people wave their forks in the air. I hate it when people use a knife improperly. I hate it when people cover their mouth with their hand to avoid talking while chewing when it doesn't negate the fact that they are talking while chewing. Just a few things on my list.

yeah, there were at least four groups there for that same photog. He was constantly on the cell phone giving directions to people who obviously didn't have a clue where he was or how to get to him...he kept repeating the landmarks/directions. It was very disruptive to those of us just trying to enjoy the beach at the end of the day.

Still can't believe how they just took over my chair and space without even a thought apparently....amazing:shock:

:funn: my mom would have poured it on then said "now don't you tell your mommy what granma just said because it wasn' nice"

Up the hill from the Gateway Arch
Loud frat boys at the Red Bar ruining my music consumption. One of my Sowal buds says any young man entering the Red Bar with a popped up polo collar should be turned away at the door. :funn: So true, my friend, so true.
(P.S. All us Peas miss you.)

1. Rude people - being cranky or a biatch doesn't make the world a better place or get you any benefits. Say please, thank you, and wait your freaking turn!
2. People who don't discipline or control their children. You are their parent, not their friend and discipline is a GOOD thing. Take your screaming brat outside/off the plane/to the wood shed!
3. Litterbugs, especially smokers
4. People whose cell phone doesn't have an off button and who feel the need to broadcast their converstion to the world!
5. People whose idea of funn is ruining others - "private" beach owners, vandals, etc
6. People who can't drive or park their car properly. If you can't park your SUV in one parking space, you either need driving lessons or a different car.
7. AC turned up way too high. I shouldn't need a sweater when it's 95 degrees out.
8. Pet owners who don't clean up after their pets
9. People who won't pull over/off for an emergency vehicle. You should treat every ambulance, fire truck etc. like it's going to YOUR house and get out of the way!
