Remember the Bingo guy saying, "Under the N -- Herschell Walker, Number 34"? He was hilarious. I remember Beach Jacket's first dance was with her daddy  at one of their dances with the Swingin' Medallions. We even did tux and formal wear for the manager's cocktail party, did y'all? Remember Big George, the Nutty Buddy man?

My best friend from high school used to beg me to go to the beach with her and her family and stay at their "cottage" at Sea Island. I pictured a rustic little cabin and always declined -- heck, I was used to fancy resort hotels. Years later on my first visit to Sea Island, I checked out their "cottage," I mean, mansion. I had no clue. What a dummy!:bang:

Big George from the Beach Club!? I had my picture taken with him recently. When I was in Jacksonville I made Jfunn drive me up. It's changed sooo much! The bingo guy was the best! Clickity Click- O 66.

The cottages are unreal. My parents always debated going 2 weeks and staying in a cottage or going 1 week and doing the all-inclusive. They went for the latter. And you did NOT miss a meal there.

Bingo.

My mom always requested a table in the front of the dining room so we could talk about what everyone was wearing.

And when Phead was too young to go to dinner, he had a sitter and they ordered him room service. Like shrimp cocktails and stuff.

But BR don't you remember, the dirty dancing wasn't out in public. They danced back in their rooms without permission from the kindly old innkeeper.
They had to sneak Baby in under the quise of carrying a watermelon.

We loved Big George! Can't believe you had your photo with him recently! I've got to dig up some old photos for a trip down memory lane. Yeah, you definitely didn't miss a meal there!

Oh, yeah. It was a real fashion show. That was back in the day when I was obsessed with dressing fashionably (from NM, of course) for each event because I wanted to be the best dressed. (Now at the beach I wear Old Navy and shower once every three days whether I have to or not :rotfl:). Beach Jacket would eat with the kid's camp group when she was too young to be civilized at dinner.
