Ohhh did they have hot dancers with tight pants and baby in the corner?
I loved that movie and had to be talked into going to see it. :dunno:

Same here...I thought it was gonna be something entirely different..don't remember what....
I have now seen it about 200 times and it ranks right up there in my faves. So many good lines. What can I say, I am easily entertained.

One of the many reasons we:love:you.

We always went the first week in August when kids were free! My parents made my friend lie when I was 17 and she was 18. It's such a good vacation for kids. And even into the teen years they have those dances. They're goofy, but everyone's parents make them go! We loved looking at all the pictures they took at dinner and would seek out the cute boys. And of course, Bingo was the best! We quit going when my parents bought the house in Grayton. But my favorite childhood vacation memories were definitely there.
Remember the Bingo guy saying, "Under the N -- Herschell Walker, Number 34"? He was hilarious. I remember Beach Jacket's first dance was with her daddy  at one of their dances with the Swingin' Medallions. We even did tux and formal wear for the manager's cocktail party, did y'all? Remember Big George, the Nutty Buddy man?

My best friend from high school used to beg me to go to the beach with her and her family and stay at their "cottage" at Sea Island. I pictured a rustic little cabin and always declined -- heck, I was used to fancy resort hotels. Years later on my first visit to Sea Island, I checked out their "cottage," I mean, mansion. I had no clue. What a dummy!:bang:

 No, didn't see much dirty dancing -- too many photographers around. Kimmi can attest to the fact that there are photographers everywhere taking photos -- at the pool, in the lobby before dinner, etc. That was before the digital age, and we couldn't wait until the evening to find our photos on the bulletin board and seeing if any of them were Christmas card quality. Oh, yeah, and the macaroons and milk served at 9 near where the photos are posted.

Kimmi, did you ever go to the spa? One day after BJ and I had massages there, BJ was so relaxed that her legs got rubbery and she had trouble walking back to our cottage. :D You had to be there -- she was really funny.

I miss the lunch buffet and the huge shrimp. I miss it all (except the beach and fighting for a lounge chair by the pool). I think it's time for a return visit!

But BR don't you remember, the dirty dancing wasn't out in public. They danced back in their rooms without permission from the kindly old innkeeper.
They had to sneak Baby in under the quise of carrying a watermelon.
