Three dead rescue miners as of right now, I'm watching CNN and they just announced the third death . This is just so sad.
cp good morning.....I was watching CNN until they reported two deaths and then I had to turn it. I listened to the Mayor's (Joe Picollo) interview and his own father died 50 years ago when he was 7. So he knows the pain. He also gave a very impassioned interview. Talked about their close community and how word gets our fast and around to everyone within a very short time. He also said to PRAY....for the families, the rescuers, the men still in the mine, and for their community. They would pull through this. They had a long time to deal with it....and together they would!
I so admired his way of dealing with the press....they were like piranhas. That was the most disturbing thing....to hear them continue to ask him the most heart wrenching questions. Or was it when they all ran up to the ambulances with cameras snapping as many pictures as they could.....trying to get a shot of someone dead....or being worked on. They literally held their camers up to the window as it slowly went by. It was so sad.
As he was talking I thought about our own community here in South Walton. We've dealt with losing locals

.....but never something that rocked the whole community. We have so much to feel blessed about. May we all learn from this and be ready if we're ever put in a situation of this category.
Love ya'll
