I have been considering a heavenly bed for a while. It is the mattress/box springs by Simmons used at the Westin hotels. I have stayed on it and loved it. I came across a code online for a 40% off and free shipping last night. Thought some of you might be interested. The pillowtop is the heavenly bed, and the plush top w/ featherbed is what is used at the W hotels. Here is the link, http://www.whotelsthestore.com/, put what you want in the basket and the code is WH7G4. It is an employee discount code for 40% off. Only downfall is the code is good through august 31st. The mattress will ship free, but if you add other items a shipping cost will apply. Check out fatwallet.com for more talk about it if interested. http://www.fatwallet.com/t/18/756780 I ordered mine and some of the great pillows....can't wait to see if it lives up to my expectations.

Actually I bought a new mattress today and went back and forth, trying to decide, it was worse than buying a car. I have been trying to decide for months.

I went with a Serta Perfect Sleeper.

I have a Jamison, which made the original version of the Tempurpedic. It is made of latex foam instead of batting and springs.

There are several versions. The most expensive is about $1000 just for the mattress. I housesit for several people who have that one, and I don't like it as well.

Mine has a layer of the latex foam (what the Tempurpedic folks call the "memory foam") over a core of what my friend at the furniture store called "carpenter's foam." Kind of like what they have in stiff couch cushions. It feels soft to the touch, but it's firm, which is good for my back. I think you can get them with a pillow top, too.

I got it about 4 years ago and absolutely love it--no lumps or dents or anything.

What I want to know is how everybody shops for a matress. You know how they say you have to lie down on the matress to see if it's the one for you? So who does a quick nod to see if anyone else is in the aisle first and then the quick blink-and-you're-done lie down test drive? And who sprawls down and takes a half hour nap just to be sure?

Same way I shop for porridge and chairs. I break into people's houses like Goldilocks.

Well believe me it was not an easy decision for me. I have shopped for over 6 months. I did research and consumer reviews first. Then as dunelover did I slept on some at different hotels, when we traveled and found out what they used.

Then compared prices and yes I went into the stores when they were not busy and laid down on them for at least 15 mins which what the consumer reviews recommended.

Mine is to be delievered next week, hope it meets my expectations.
