Over ten years ago, when the bandshell (tent) was new and maintenance had not yet become familiar with setting it up, a lot of rain fell and the tent collected water and begin to sag. The problem was two-fold: (1) if they left the water in it, the very-expensive tent would tear under the pressure, but (2) whoever was unlucky enough to pull down one side of the tent to drain off the water would likely drown. :shock:

I've seen the amphitheater covered in water like that a few times.
Isn't the ampitheatre technically their major stormwater retention area?
