Let me know if you have any luck with the reverse lookup. You have a better chance with that than with DoCo Animal Control or any other govt agency in Albany. :bang:
If reverse lookup doesn't work, do you have the number for the vets in the Albany? I could call them or email them with photos of the dog and Rabies id #.

There are about 20 Vets in the Albany phone book. Eliminating the ones in surrounding towns still leaves about 15. You can go to www.realpageslive.com (local provider, BellSouth/AT&T) and drill down to Albany, GA Veterinarians. None had a website listed in their ads, like I said before - small town. I have a really good friend that volunteers for the local Humane Society in Albany, I'll call him and ask how they find a missing owner.

Thanks for the help. Let's hope the reverse lookup works. If not, I'll see if the girls can run him to a local vet tomorrow and scan him for a micro chip. If that fails, we will try the vets and the rabies tag id #. Maybe all of the vets share a data base of the rabies tags id.

Joe, they might be able to help you trace the tag.

The dog's owner CAN be found that way. Call it. I lost my cat in Nashville and got a call from my vet when someone found him and got the number off his rabies tag. (And this was ten years ago, when technology was not what it is today.)

Update:

We're getting close! I am trying to call the family that belongs to this dog. I'll let the board know when I've located them.

I found a dog roaming aroung looking lost in our neighborhood in Seagrove. I was afraid he would get run over, so I brought him into our home and then started going door-to-door in the neighborhood. As I was doing this, I heard someone yelling as if he were calling a dog. I followed the sound, and sure enough, it was the child of the dog's owner.

We had a guest staying with us at the beach last spring who accidentally let Pepper out. We didn't even know she was outside. I just happened to look out the front door, and there was Pepper looking in. It scared me so badly that I almost threw up.

Hope you find the dog's owners!

Thanks for the update, and for those of you, with kind caring hearts that took it upon themselves to help this doggie in distress.

Hopefully the owners will get a tag with travel contact on it in the future.
