His name was Dr. Robert Cade. He was a kidney specialist who coincidentally died from kidney disease. We heard him speak at many banquets at UF, talking about how he invented Gatorade to help the UF football team survive football practice in the summer heat. I read somewhere that UF makes a royalty off every bottle of Gatorade that is sold.
He also had a very effeminate voice to the point of being humorous -- always when he started talking, people would giggle.
Dr. Cade. I wonder if they will stop running that great Gatorade commercial about the Swamp with Keith Jackson and Dr. Cade? It's a classic.
Gives any good Gator the chills.if the guy on man vs wild can drink his own urine, i guess the people who like gatorade shouldn't complain, huh ?![]()
That's the one thing I will never forget about that movie. Too bad it was the very first scene.
I can't remember anything else about that apopalyptic (sp?) tale.
