Lynn Haven is basically, Panama City north. I believe the NotSo Super Walmart will be on Hwy 77. Currently, I don't think Panama City has a NotSo Super Walmart. They just have the regular one, without groceries, located on 23rd St.

We were in Las Vegas this past week and these commercials were running constantly on TV. I personally have not set foot in a WalMart in about 5 years, because of personal dealings on my end with their health insurance coverage and treatment of their employees.

What do y'all think about this? Do you shop at WalMart and why?

I think it was better when Sam was alive.....now I feel they are way overpriced. I live in a small rivertown and the closest shopping is WalMart.
I drive 15 minutes further to get to a Target....which I prefer...especially their end cap clearance..you can get some great deals.

If I had to judge Publix by that measure, I'd never have groceries. That place smells like Ye Olde Holiday Whorehouse this time of year.

WalMart really is a terrible company...they exemplify the worst of this country, and capitalism in general. My reasons are pretty much the same as Beachbummett's. The people that make a living wage (I think there are about three per store) have 100% coverage. Everyone else has to buy their own insurance out of their paychecks, and it covers nothing. These poor people still get a huge bill, which they of course can't pay. The doctor ends up writing off the cost -- so, every doctor in this country is basically subsidizing Wal-Mart.

I do, however, really respect the leadership they have shown by introducing the $4 generic drug program. If the $4 drug formulary were used by everyone as a first resort, we'd no longer have a healthcare crisis in this country.
As a nurse I agree with this $4 generic drug deal...Meijer however offers some free...last I heard Wal-Mart had more cash than Meijer and when is the last time you picked up a prescription in the back of the store and didn't leave with something else.....

Ahhh. I went to a Walmart in PC with Mrs. Hop for Torre Rosa stuff, but we were both in "scoop and run" mode, so I didn't notice what sort it was...("Scoop and run" is my usual mode in Walmart! :leaving:)

If you think the produce in Not-So-Super-Wal-mart is crappy, let me invite you to Kelly's Grocery Store, located in Freeport. I should take photos the next time I'm in there. Every cashier in there has a cough, year-round, and I'm not sure if they have the Flu or if it is smoker's hack, or a combination of both. I used to think that Winn-Dixie was the bottom of the barrel, but I'm telling you that NotSo-SuperWalmart looks nice and shiny compared to Kelly's.

The first time I stepped into Kelly's I was nearly knocked over by the smell of rotting produce. What a place!

The Destin Target is particularly good for that since they don't turn over stock as quickly as the one in Mary Esther does. (I never found good clearance stuff there) Best recent score- a Tivoli Model Three radio for $50 instead of $200.
