Today's carpool line activity will be sorting my recycling into the blue recycling trailer, while looking like an UnFashionable Mom. I will be indentifiable by my jeans, trail runners, and the oh-so-boring t-shirt. I might get a shower today, then again, might not. My hair will look the same either way- like I stuck my head under a lawnmower.

Love you. Kisses!!

I suppose I should come in here more often.

antique:
1: a relic or object of ancient times2 a: a work of art, piece of furniture, or decorative object made at an earlier period and according to various customs laws at least 100 years ago b: a manufactured product (as an automobile) from an earlier period

btw, I'm sure you realize we like seeing you in tubetops without bras. my PSA for the day.

I hope you get a shower today before dinner. With little kids, it's either 5 am or whenever there is another adult around to supervise, or naptime.

Naptime is now. I am wasting my shower time. She is not asleep yet so I have a few minutes. But I have a deadline too! Oh the choices!

(I foresee no makeup again today.)

I don't think you should discuss antiques and tube tops in the same post.

Oh, gosh, I used to be a victim of the "Fashion Mom" syndrome when I was an active member of the Junior League. We'd always wear trendy suits to meetings, and most of these women didn't even work outside the home, as I do. These women on a daily basis would get to the carpool line early enough to go from car to car, showing off their new outfits. I fell victim to this as well. I remember when I kept a log of what I wore every day -- one quarter I never wore the same thing twice to work (or the carpool line afterwards).

One day I visited my sister in Dallas. Her SIL dropped by and was dressed head to toe in Chanel. I asked sis if SIL had just attended a charity luncheon. Sis said, "No. Many people just dress like that in Dallas, even when they go to the grocery store. It makes them look important."

When we built the house at the beach, I started liking the more casual style of dressing. That transferred over to my style of dress at home. As I've said before, now my uniform is jeans, black turtleneck, a nice jacket, boots, and perhaps a fur in the cooler months, and shorts or linen pants, T-shirt (usually black) and flip-flops in the warmer months (except at work where I'll wear flats and a nice jacket).

I say, girls wear your pj's (you know, the knit pants/cami or tube tops/matching coverup) in the carpool line and gross out the "Fashion Moms"!
