I know people in wheelchairs who drive cars (they have hand controls), but I thought in order to do that you needed FULL arm mobility. :dunno:

I know a quad who sustained a mid cervical spine injury. She can manage a bit of wrist motion, zero hand gripping but has full use of th elbows and shoulders. OT has taught her how to manage to do quite a few things with limited use of the hands.

I thought quadriplegic meant you didn't have use of all 4 limbs - so how was he driving a car down the street waving his arms? :dunno:

Watch the video again, they mention he is a partial quadriplegic and he appears to only have use of his right arm. The left arm didn't seem to have any movement.

Someone who only has the use of one arm is somehow driving a car down the street.

They are arrested and severely mistreated by sheethead law enforcement officials who don't believe that they are actually handicapped.

There HAS to be more to this story! :dunno:

In my (limited) experience, a modified car takes 2 hands to operate and has a special license plate and equipment.

So these cops are either WAY more evil than I thought or we are NOT getting all the info.

I do agree that there is no excuse for the treatment, but generally Jail employees (correctional officers) receive far less training than Police officers. Is that what you were going for?

Been on the news for days down here. It IS crazy. I really don't care what he did...... There is no call for that!

The Deputy that did it, they are "Talking" about dismissing she is on Unpaid leave, the one that was smiling at the camera as he walked away, insists he wasn't laughing and he is on Paid leave until after the investigation.
There is lots of "splaining" to do!!!!!

Does that mean we cannot see? He sure looked as if he was grinning to me. That was disgusting. I can only hope "He gets what he gives."

There is now an arrest warrant out for the female deputy that did the dump. They are talking about giving her 5 years in jail for abusing the handicapped. A deputy going to jail could mean a death sentence for her.
