Are you catching a mouse or writing the script for Ratatouille?

Now garnish the peanut butter and bacon with a nice parmesean or hard cheese. Perhaps a thimble of dark beer on the side to wash it down with.

Our eight-year-old-today cat, Dexter, who has never had to lift a paw for anything and has very few instincts left, brought us a HUGE dead mouse (from outside) last night.

If Dexter can catch one, they must be plentiful. Oh, the joys of spring.

OK my serious answer is set out more than 1 trap. Tonight put a little bit of food on the traps, but don't set them. If Mr Mouse visits the traps and takes the bait; put the food on it much more securely and this time set it.

Happy Birthday, Dexter!!!! Can I borrow Dexter, My cat Bubba, left and moved in next door with my mother...because she hates cats and he knows it.

It is a mouse, for goodness sake, whack it! My fail-proof trap is an old fashioned trap baited with bacon that is cooked just briefly enough to firm it up. Wrap a piece of the bacon around the bait holder and then secure it with a thread. Mouse will be history, guaranteed:wave:

Ya know...I can be pretty tuff...(I was the youngest and the only girl, I had to be)..but a smushed mouse is sad...even if it is eating me out of house and home. And...what if....it doesn't die...just mangled...then I would have to do a mercy killing.....OH THE THOUGHT!!!!

Maybe if I begin to hate Bubba, he'll come back..........

There are humane traps that catch the mouse and then you can release it. I'm pretty sure most people think it's crazy, but I prefer not to kill them either. Just google "humane traps". They might even have some at the Ace Hardware. And if you have one mouse, you probably do, or will, have others so the trap will be used again.
I agree. You will probably have a mouse problem again, so it only makes sense.
