In four weeks I could have this puppy for about $250. He is the only male in a litter of 8 born two weeks ago. I had the woman email me this picture of him to try and tempt my husband. He said he is cute but not as cute as our Mo was as a puppy. This is a full blooded lab. The parents of the puppies are owned by a woman I work with. Is he not the cutest thing?

Unfortunately four weeks from now would be right before our beach vacation and if I were allowed to get him I could not board him that soon and cannot take him with us where we stay. I am sure I could get the woman who works with me to keep him while we are on vacation for that extra amount of time. She is going to place an ad in the paper here in two weeks.

I'm probably going to have to just pass him up though, part of me wants him but part of me doesn't want to be tied down another 10+ years to another pet. It has been one year yesterday since Mo left us. I miss a dog greeting us that is for sure. Anyway, just wanted to share his cute picture.

They just got their eyes opened last week but she says they are still a little unsteady on their feet. She wants all of us to come see them but if I do I know that will be a mistake. I will want to bring that little fella home for sure. She has all different colors, some cinnamon, some chocolate, some yellow and the one lone black one. There was a 9th one that was black also but it was so large it couldn't pass through the birth canal and it didn't make it.

One of her daughters owns the momma dog and didn't want the vet doing a c-section because the dog would not be able to have anymore puppies so he gave the dog a shot to induce labor while they could hear a heartbeat but after an hour and a half she had not had the puppy so they did surgery then but it was too late, it had already died.

The thought of that made me so mad. If they had done a section right then it would have made it. Her daughter gets the money for each puppy sold that her dog has. Her parents should have not let her make the decision where saving that puppy was concerned, she is too young. I don't know whether it is the 11 year old that owns the momma or the 13 year old, but either way.

that is one cute pup. Of course you know that a puppy lab is the single most destructive force on the earth

Not all of them, mine never destoryed anything. :D

LadyD, sent you some info on a sweet full blooded 3 month old chocolate lab, that is free to a good home. His owners lost their home and he did too. :sosad:

Thanks Minnie. What happened that they lost their home. If I lost my home I would not get rid of my puppy because of it. But I will look at it. I would hope that if someone comes forward wanting that puppy that the owners will not hand it over if they have a bad feeling about that person. I had two people at my work that wanted one of our puppies and I would not let either one of them have one. One kept a dog a month or two and then would get rid of it, and the other had just lost his dog due to poisonous baby snakes in his backyard that had bitten his dog all over its face during the night and it was dead in his backyard the next morning. And he wanted one of our puppies for the same fate to happen to. I don't think so.
