Ok, show us the pic of the 3 month old lab free to a good home. I used to have two choc.labs/ I:love:emthat and bassett hounds.
Well, ladyde which one are you going with? I think that puppy is soo cute, bet he's soft and has puppy breath too.
How hard would it be to train a lab to be a house dog?

It's not hard--if you crate train from the beginning.

I would think not very hard cp, ours were no problem. My husband has said no to the black one and the brown one both. Minnie emailed me a picture. I tried posting them on here and it would not let me. Saying the file size is too big for a bmp file. And I resized them down to handheld pc size and it showed them too big still. Will have to forward them to you if I have your email.

I crate trained both my BC's and never had a problem. We got them from a breeder, but when they cross the rainbow bridge, I have decided the next member of my family will come from a shelter. I just spent a few minutes on this site and I so wish I could take this little girl right now. Please say a little prayer that she will find a home. She broke my heart. After seeing her, I had to go hug my two.:sosad:

Labs can be house dogs, but you can not leave them alone when they are very young.

They do not do well with seperation from humans. That is when they become destructive.

Also this dog would need a fenced yard that is looking for a home.

Au contraire, Minnie. :D I leave Maggie uncrated in the house all day. No probs. She sleeps on my bed all day. This is of course because she is over the three year thing. When we get home though, you're right, she wants to be with us every second and she is itching for her walk.

Oh, she has a look of begging for someone to take her home doesn't she? She looks sad. :sosad: She is not in a shelter that puts them down is she? I don't think rescue places do that do they?

Your right, I was speaking in reference to puppies and young dogs. Ours is just now where we feel comfortable leaving her alone at the house.

Thanks for the correction.

She's not rescued yet. They link to pet finder. My two, I am afraid, would not tolerate another at their age(10&11). I felt like such a downer listing her here, but am hoping that maybe someone will see her close to where she is and fall in love with her too.

No, I don't want to do that Miss Kitty. Like I said, one part of me wants another dog, and one part of me doesn't. I miss Mo and Sapphire, but I also don't have the guilt hanging over me of boarding them for over a week to go somewhere.

Seeing Mo when we picked him up that first time after boarding him by himself after Sapphire died, we vowed then we would never board him again or go anywhere again without taking him and we didn't. Only after he died last April did we make our beach plans again. I like being able to go without the guilt being on my shoulders but I also miss a dog. They are such good companions. Always showing you love.
