I am much more concerned about how long we are holding people w/o charges or trials than the available souvenirs at a place only military personnel and their families can visit. The prices seem comparable to what I paid to stay on a base in for a wedding in Minnesota so it's fair IMO.
It may seem tacky, but those souvenirs really make the day of the friends and family back home. During the first Gulf War my friend wore her pink "My mother wears combat boots" tee constantly.
