I've read that it's hereditary. My Mom has always had it (like the women on her father's side of the family), no matter how thin she was. Sister doesn't have it -- she's built more like our maternal grandmother.

aaaAAhh....then lucky you huh?

Too bad we can't choose all our good parts to pass down to our children. :D

Spent saturday afternoon at a boat party attended by a 16 year old girl in a string bikini who had one of the best bodies I have ever seen. :yikes:

Can't decide if I am now uber-motivated or depressed that I didn't even look like that at 16 when I was an athlete in training!

OK, we may never again look like we did when we were 16 but just think of all the positives. Do we really want to go back to that age? Isn't it great to be experienced and so much wiser. Of course we all thought that we were so wise back then. ;-) I will not stop trying to be the best "me" at whatever age I am and most days I think that is "good enough".

I'm still mentally 16, so I wouldn't be regressing or less wise! :D

That's just my reality check as far as what is realistic for my body. If it didn't look like that when I was weight training 2x a week and swimming 10x a week at age 16, it isn't happening at 28 with a desk job and vino in my glass.

Too bad I didn't realize at the time that I had a rockin' body in my teens and early 20's. I always thought I was too flat chested and was really self conscious about it. I didn't get boobs until after I had a baby. And even then it was quite the shocker. You know what happens about 3 days after delivery...Helloooo Dolly. I decided then that I had a perfectly good body back then. I know I will never be in that kind of shape again but I'm okay with that. I like what Gypsea said...I'll just try to be the best "me" I can be.

I think my daughter got the body I always wanted.

Spending your teen years in front of crowds in an extra tight racing swimsuit (to flatten you even more for less resistance) or on wilderness trips where you pair a swimsuit w/ unwashed hair, a PFD tan, and hiking boots knocks any self consciousness out the window!

Thanks to practicality/sports, I never wanted bigger boobs - friends who had them were always complaining how annoying they were for running, how they messed up your tennis & golf swing, created more drag when swimming etc. :D

Vino is a killer, isn't it! All those empty calories but oh so good!
