I spent three days down there last weekend and unfortunately, didn't take one photo. I hate it, because I could have gotten some cool shots of Watersound.

I spent three days down there last weekend and unfortunately, didn't take one photo. I hate it, because I could have gotten some cool shots of Watersound.

Sometimes, I forget to take my camera with me, or the batteries run out, and I am a little frustrated that I cannot get shots, but the truth is that pics don't really convey the full picture anyway, so I just try to enjoy. It is easy to focus too much on getting the right shot, rather than just enjoying the moment.

I like to see those storm damage shots, it's reminds me what a wonderful job mother nature does of repairing herself. I have pictures from two days after Ivan where those beautiful dunes at Watersound were just sheered off, they looked horrible, dark reddy/brown sandy dirt, roots sticking out, so severe looking......compare to now.....beautiful again in just in just a few short years. Reminds me that we need to leave the dune fixing to mother nature.

JB, your pics from your weekend would have been hilarious! Wish your wife and I had got a shot of you when we could not get your attention after saying your name three times.....hint, there was a girl in an itsy bitsy bikini involved.
