We've had them twice. FBB probably wishes we'd have them again, so I would clean and organize our pantry. :rotfl: I think he's a much better cleaner organizer. If he didn't have to own every small kitchen appliance and gadget ever invented, I'd have more room.

 I hear ya. Actually, I cleaned almost everything out so I can honestly say at the moment, "the cupboard is bare".

My Mom just had quite the infestation with fruit flies!!! Vinegar works well. Also, clean out the drains of your kitchen sink (like with actual drain cleaner)----this is where they breed. Good Luck!!

About a year ago we had a problem with those little fly/moth things too. I cleaned out the drain (also read about on the internet) and the pantry with no luck getting rid of them. After a month or so I finally figured it out. I have one lower cabinet where I stash the potatoes and onions. I opened up that cabinet and a few flew out and I knew that was it. Guess I hadn't cooked in a while. Mr OL cleaned it out and not a problem since.:D

you know that fly around your overripe peaches etc! I read somewhere if you had a 1/2 cup of something it got rid of them. Does anyone remember or know a solution?

Yeah,....1/2 cup of DDT will do the trick.

Right here!
Check any organic rice/grain products from California. :) I had some organic rice that was infested with something that bread inot little white flying moths. They took over all the grains in my pantry, including eating all my spagetti. Good news is, they added a very unique flavor to all my cooking!

for fruit flies...I read that a mixture of apple cider vinegar with a small amount of liquid soap would do them in. The explanation was that the fruit flies will be drawn to the smell of the apple cider vinegar and when they go to sip some will bet stuck in the liquid saop. I tried it but evidently my fruit flies had not read the same article.
