Dylan is home and he said he had a good day! He likes his teacher a lot. She is really a great lady. They had to write a story about how they got up this morning and what they did before school. Dylan was asked to read his aloud because she said his was very descriptive. I asked him what he wrote about and he said how his cocoa krispies spoke to him this morning in their weird language and how his mom took forever when taking pictures. :roll:

Sam's home and of course she loves it and loves all her teachers. Mr OL asked if all the 8th graders were mad w/power. She said no, but it is a lot different being older than all the sevies.

Okay, it's a new school year, post your first day of school pics here!
This is the first year in forever that my kids couldn't get their first day of school pics taken together. Sam leaves a half an hour before Dylan even needs to get up! It's practically dark outside. Her first day of high school was yesterday. They let the freshman have the whole building to learn their way around and get to know each other. There are 1400+ at this school. I think there are about 323 freshman. ( enrollment is declining after Sam's class) She had a great day and is excited. Dylan had his first day today and was actually ready to go back. So ready in fact that I didn't get a picture this morning! I went upstairs to get dressed and came down and he was gone! So much for hugging and kissing me goodbye anymore.:roll: Mr OL was home and let him go.:angry: I guess I'll get his picture when he gets home today.
Here's Sam's. They all had to wear these shirts on the first day. Remember it was almost dark so I had to take the pic inside. (also the first year not in front of the tree)

my spidey is a first grader!!!
we had a happy first day and there were no tears at drop off by him or me. he was so ready to be back in school. I wasn't exactly ready for summer schedule to end, and having to adjust to a real schedule, etc. but, its been a great first few weeks. we do have pictures on someone's camera around here (not mine) so I'll have to wait for them to be available before I can share them.
it was an extra special first day this year at the Montessory school since it was their first day to enter the new school at the new location in Pt Washington. all the children and teachers and families were all smiles and so proud of having such a beautiful environment filled with natural beauty such as old live oaks and massive magnolias, next to Eden Gardens State Park.
thanks to so many dedicated parents and teachers and builders/workers - all renovations were completed and the school was able to open as scheduled on Aug 18. I'll share some photos of the school soon. We are very blessed.
