Is anyone else watching this on CNN? A truly transformative plan compared to Katrina. N.O. folks are already filling in the neighborhood over here in SD.

Yes, hope FEEBLE, uh, I mean FEMA got it act together and the is someone at the helm whose background goes a bit further than training Arabian show horses, I would even take a runner up in the Miss Alaska Pagaent to run it, over what we had before, where's Brownie??
The good news is the CNN Breaking News for both hurricanes will all but dissolve and disrupt the Republican Convention. The truth will then be told is that what "came around once" (Katrina), will go around again (Gustav). Can you say Karma.

...please think before you post! We are all guilty of this sometimes. Do you really think all of this smart thinking is because of FEMA???? IMO, it is the people and leadership of LA that has learned a hard lesson and the great new governor, Mr. J. Where is Nagin, btw?...please think before you post! We are all guilty of this sometimes. I'll give credit where credit is due, he's on CNN right now talking about mandatory city evacuations. He hasn't declared that yet, but apparently they are getting "ramped up". All state and federal representatives are apparently working together on this.
You're right Kitty, they learned a lesson and they are determined not to repeat the same mistakes. We'll see how it goes.

Great, politicizing the demise of a city. hnooe2000, that fits your profile.
