Or doing laundry on Sunday, if your washer is off balance:blink:
Mother always told me that it was bad luck to iron on Sunday.

Back on topic, the most annoying religious buzzword to me is the word "just." The minister said the word "just" so many times in a wedding I went to about two years ago that it was downright annoying. Whenever I go to a church or a wedding and they say, "Lord, we just want to praise you, and we just want to say that we just want you to heal the sick in our church, and we just love you, and we just ...", I am thinking, "WHY DO THEY HAVE TO USE THE WORD "JUST" IN VIRTUALLY EVERY SENTENCE?" I don't get it. :dunno: No one ever says "just" in that context at any other church I've attended. And I've attended church my entire life.

Thanks! I was just trying to throw out some food for thought, but realized quickly I should have stayed off this thread since I don't care for religion or politics.

Great question, I tried to read all of the responses to this thread with a focus on those who were really trying to answer the question, (being the hopeless literalist that I am), in my opinion, barefoot guy nailed it. Great answer and scripturally accurate too!

I am glad you and all the posters did not shy away. I thank eveyone for their thoughts and experiences. I hear some of you talking about an almost "healthy" fear of God and how the word fear has been somewhat misconstrued overtime. In the end, I have come away with a broader understanding and it made me think of my religious upbringing and how I ended up where I am today...I thank God for my free will and tolerance, which I will try my best to use everyday.

BTW...do know that starting this thread was more difficult than it might seem...I cherish my faith and do not usually share it unless asked. That actually might sound selfish, but I believe that my faith comes out everyday in how I live my life! :dunno:

Are you trying to expand this into Arminianism v. Calvinism, i.e. conditional v. unconditional election? (smiley face here)

You betcha'!  :D
