A special program/message from Five former Secretaries of State to the New President. Advice from some intelligent and experienced people.

This looks like a great show for all American's to watch. True non-partison diplomatic information...not political soundbites.

It will be on tonight at 8:00 CDT. Watch, listen, and learn America.

I miss Christiane Amanpour. A real journalist drowned out amidst a gaggle of hacks.

Thanks for the heads up GW58.

I only got to watch the last half hour, but what I saw was very interesting, as well as humorous. Loved Colin Powell's answers about not being sure who to vote for and that he was first an American. Even better--- when he said, let's get past all the lipstick stuff and get to the issues. :clap:

It was very informative. My take away was that our first priority is to restore the standing of America in the world community--they said the first and best way to do that was to close Gitmo;

then, the next conclusion they seemed to have was that we need to utilize our "soft power"...guess this is to be expected coming from the Chief Diplomats...Baker said there were more people on an aircraft carrier than in the entire State Department, and Christopher said there were more lawyers in the Pentagon that employees in the entire State Dept...obviously diplomacy has not been a priority lately--no surprise there.

Despite what Baker said about supporting McCain, it was hard to listen to them and not believe the Obama approach is more in line with what they are recommending.

On global warming, Madeleine A. got in her "dig" she said it was a problem caused by mankind everywhere "except in Alaska" . It was funny.,

I wish we had more television like this, and that more of the American public would watch it...perhaps CNN will replay it often before the election.

True. I wish they would air this on PBS or a public channel. Many older folks do not get these channels and certainly would have enjoyed watching this.
