We met my sophmore year at Young Life. His name was Tom, a 6'4" football player from another high school. We dated for 2 years and spent a lot of time together. I broke up with him but it was still hard b/c I loved him like a brother. I'm not sure he ever got over it. When I was 8 months pregnant I got roses delivered to my work place from a secret admirer. :yikes:Of course all the girls at work thought this was scandalous! LOL We called the florist to try to find out who it was. The only thing we found out were his initials which matched my first love's. Never heard anything from him after that. About 7 years ago I heard he died of a massive heart attack at the age of 36. It made me really sad that I never heard about it and couldn't pay my last respects. It also made me sad that he never got married. I know it's something he always wanted.

The other stange thing is I married a Tom who is also 6'4".

Oh and I never liked the name Tom. My very first crush in first grade was a boy named Tom. He got sick and threw up in the lunchroom and then I didn't want him to be my boyfriend anymore.

Wow.

Was it in high school? Where? Do you still know him/her? Got a story?

Yes
Here
Yes, and so do many of you
Yes, but a girl has got to have some secrets

Same for #2

And if I had met ShallowsFuzz at that point, instead of progressing to #3 and #4 (I don't even admit to #4, if I can help it), things would have been much better. But it's possible I wouldn't appreciate him as much.

My first real love was as a senior in high school. He was a tall blonde named Mark and we dated/"were madly in love" until about 20. He moved away for college, we discovered lots of differences in our life viewpoints and my heart broke as only a heart can break at that age. I spent a few years hoping to reconcile, even now I know where he is (hello Internet)- wish we could talk about the old funny naive young days.

The man I married and love is completely different from the "type" I thought I liked/loved back then. Over time I realized I was always attracted to a romantic image when what I really needed was someone who could accept me with all my quirks. 25 year anniversary in March 2009- it has been a great ride, lots of fun times- thanks for turning me loose when you did, Mark!

You too? My brother loved her. He also had that Farah Fawcett poster in the red bathing suit on the inside of his closet, you know the one, my Mom made him put another poster up to her shoulders.

:blink::blink: is right!!! Like a poster bra!!!
Like your brother didn't regularly unhook the "bra" for his easy "viewing" pleasure of Farah :funn::funn:

I was in high school (16), he was not (19). It was downright scandalous! He came to one of my basketball games with his friend and bought me a Coke. He's still around and is one heckuva hubby!!!

Minnie... very touching sweet / bittersweet story. Thanks for sharing.

As for MY story... I reserve the telling for a wench-night on my patio under cover of darkness and a few bottles of wine ;-)
I am ready for a patio story....

First love - Jason H.

We dated the last one and a half years in high school. He was with me through my fathers cancer and death so he was a rock to me. When I went to college we still saw each other when we could. I was so in love and ready to make the "big move" he was not at that time and he told me that he would not marry me and get it out of my head. I was crushed. I lost track of him and did not hear from him until about 2 years ago after my mother and sister passed away. He sent flowers. It floored me. We email each other every once in a while and now he found myspace page... I treasure our time together but am so glad it did not work out or I would have never found the true love of my life....
