PM InletBchDweller about this restaurant. It seems like she made a comment about Shades this past May when we were down. She may have eaten there or knows someone that has.

I used to eat there ALL the time when I was working at Alys Beach. I wouldnt discourage anyone from eating there. I just ate there too much and got to experience change over in waitstaff, some good some bad service. Can't say anything negative about the food really!

If you get the Nachos its enough for 2 or 3 to share!!! Or used to be!

We go to Shades at least once or twice every time we are in Seacrest. It is family friendly with tasty food and generally good service (sometimes great!). Lots of TVs, big bar -- very casual. Shades definitely had some growing pains when it opened, but we have found it lately to be consistently good.

I have not been since June but I loved it when I lived there.
Service did get spotty there for a while but was fine in a few weeks.

Nachos are great, caesar salad with chicken, hot wings....good assortment of draft beer and liquor.

hubby I split a wedge and split the crab cake entree. Plenty for all. We usually go there the first night we get to the beach. Convenient, easy.
Service has always been good when we've been there.

I like the food there as well. The only thing that bothers me it can very loud at times especially when the games are on. There is a game room for the kids as well.

Too far away for me, but I have eaten there a couple of times. Used to eat at Shades in Seaside quite often. Food is good, nothing special, but good, and priced fairly, especially for around here. I think Shades at the Loop has an open feel. I seem to recall many TVs for watching sports, combination of booths, tables and bar stools. Dark colors inside, very noisy without much fabric to absorb sound, so it is rather lively. On my couple of visits, I found service to be sincere and good. If Shades at the Loop was located closer to Grayton Beach, I'd probably go there often.

I think the food improved dramatically after the move from Seaside.
