A consensual extra-marital affair w/ a 50 year old woman is still wrong, but not nearly as bad as soliciting minors. I don't approve of infidelity or impropriety on anyone's part regardless of their party affiliation.

What the hell is in the water in that district BTW?

I think a payoff to prevent a suit is as bad as sending e-mails, and in Foley's case, both state and federal officials have cleared him of criminal wrongdoing.:yikes: Foley got what was coming to him, but Mahoney should get his as well. Finally I agree with you, someone should immediately conduct water tests down there to identify the problem.:rotfl:

That's probably one district the Republicans can win back. Makes you wonder what in the world goes through the minds of these people we send to Washington. Looks like they would learn that they are being watched. This is obviously a bipartisan problem.

No comparison between the situations. The Foley situation was funny in a perverted justice with Chris Hansen sort of way. It was like a train wreck where you can't help but watch and relish the pain the poor b---rd must have been going through!:D What a loooser!:rotfl: Almost made me feel there might be a god after all!

The public issue is not the affair but Mahoney paid $121,000 to his affair partner to not file a sexual harrassment lawsuit. He also offered her a $50,000 per year job. Reportedly, the $121,000 came from his campaign funds. If Mahoney worked for a private corporation, he would have been fired on the spot for sexual harrassment and should have been.

Let's see if this generates the howling of condemnation from Liberals that Rep. Foley's conduct generated.:rotfl: Also, let's monitor the media coverage of this as opposed to the firestorm that was created about Foley .:dunno:

This story seems more in line with the David Vitter scandal. The media response to that was much more muted than the Foley fiasco.

There is also the irony associated with the party of family values being caught with their pants down that makes for a bigger better story.

Democrats are all without morals anyway so not a big story.
