I was wondering what everyone's thoughts are on which channel is truly unbiased? (Least biased) I know there is a strong disdain for Fox by many people on this board. What other mainstream channel is actually fair and balanced?

Of the big three cable networks, CNN is probably the best. They really have seemed to be the fairest overall, from what speeches they show to what stories they run and the way they approach them. They're not perfect of course.

I really never used to be bothered much by Fox News, and watched it frequently with Mr. TFT (except for Hannity - can't stand him). But I have been absolutely amazed by what stories they have chosen to play up and follow in the past two months. I am quite sure that it is mostly a ploy for ratings. What is scary though is that many people who watch Fox only seem to watch Fox (Murdoch knows this and is capitalizing on it). It's great for Murdoch's pockets but bad for the country. So much more polarization than I ever noticed before. :sosad:

All are biased. Doesn't matter if broadcast, print, daily, weekly, internet, whatever, bias cannot be removed from the equation. I laugh every time I see factcheck.org referred to as "non-partisan". Of course, they refer to themselves as non-partisan which only adds to the silliness.

CSPAN, when they broadcast with no commentary whatsoever. It's almost eerie to watch. You are so programmed to expect someone to be telling you what to think, it's hard to tell what's going on sometimes. You're just waiting for the announcer.

CSPAN is kind of fun to flip to during the conventions. All the other newsies covering the convention are all breathless about how every single thing that they're showing is of ultimate importance. With CSPAN, they show all the little stuff, complete with announcements from the chair that go like: 'A reminder that all Great Lakes delegates who are part of the water issues subcommittee need to meet at 10:30am in the Oak Leaf Ballroom' and such.

All networks have their biased programs with hosts like Olberman and O'Reilly but Fox News anchors let their bias show while delivering regular news. I haven't seen this on other networks. It's fine with me if one likes this type of reporting.
