Anderson Cooper is to CNN what Bill O'Reilly is to Fox. I don't think it is possible to get unbiased news these days.

Yep, and it's all so bombastic these days. Cambell Brown, Olberman, O'Reilly, Cooper, Dobbs, Blitzer... BLECH.

I miss Aaron Brown.

There has in terms of coverage of this election. If I remember correctly, Obama has McCain beat throughout 2 to 1 in terms of raw coverage.

I think Campbell Brown is relatively unbiased. She seems to be having a lot of fun being an old school muckraker and poking both sides of the political spectrum with a sharp stick in order to see what happens.

Have there been any independent studies done showing the difference of coverage between the networks? That would be interesting to see.

The problem would become who could do an independent study without instilling their own bias into the report. It's like the chicken or the egg.

I was wondering what everyone's thoughts are on which channel is truly unbiased? (Least biased) I know there is a strong disdain for Fox by many people on this board. What other mainstream channel is actually fair and balanced?

I would recommend that you do some serious research into the subject yourself. After all... any answer or recommendation by myself or anyone else on this board as to which news channel is "least biased" will be a "biased" answer.
I've heard many people spew vitriol against Fox news which claims to be "fair and balanced" and I've heard man say CNN stands for the Communist News Network. You will end up gravitating to whatever news channel reflects your personal world view.
Don't discount finding good news sources on the internet if you're careful.

This election season made me happier than usual that I don't have a t.v. I really like reading all the sources from the left and right and not being spoon fed information. It kept me saner during this election, I think:blink:

I tried to watch PBS last night in hopes of elevating my internal conversation, but lasted about 20 seconds before I realized it was boring.

CNN did fine -- and I thought their online electoral map was the best designed of the ones I saw. Comedy Central was funny.
