these guys dont need a site. best food on 30A period casual dining with excellen food. We love the welcoming corkage fee there.

Once again, Cafe Tango confirmed it- our favorite place to dine on 30A!
Last night was a special going away dinner, so the restaurant had to be special too. Of course the first choice was Cafe Tango. The first kudos go to Paja and Walt- the wonderful owners who make everyone who walks through the door seem like a honored guest. Of course we weren't the quietest table, but they (and Rob, our great server) didn't seem to mind our exuberance (OK- lots of laughing - and Bdarg has the only quiet voice out of the 6). It was a fun dinner, even if it was to say goodbye to the Kitties.
On to the food - wow. We perfected the art of passing around the plates so everyone could ooh and ahh. Three appetizers came out - baked brie with a delicious fruity compote, spicy barbecue shrimp (with bread to soak up the yummy juice), and a beautiful, rich shrimp and crab dish (didn't catch the name) - we couldn't pass the plates around fast enough. Even the bread and bowls of olive oil and cheese are special!
Cafe Tango salads are delicious and it is always hard to decide among their salad dressings. Last night our group split between the soy ginnger vinaigrette and habanero honey mustard. The Skunks were both saying how the habanero is their favorite dressing around. I had the soy ginger and wish I could buy a bottle- I would eat a healthy salad every day. The fun part of the salad course was Rob and his fun peppergrinder with the spotlight to light up your salad as the pepper is grinding. We were loving it!
On to dinner- 4 of us couldn't resist the Dancing Fish, and last night it was triggerfish- delicious, light, sweet, with shrimp and scallops. And oh those mashed potatoes! Bdarg had the pistachio crusted grouper, but by the time I tried to grab a bite it was gone. Skunky had the steak with chimmichurri sauce and I did manage to sneak a bit of the sauce, whcih was delicious and now I am craving it.
We finished our dinners, took a deep breath, and it was dessert time! A huge creme brulee landed right in front of me- I hate when that happens.
It was delicious, but it had to be passed around with the other desserts- fantastic key lime pie that disappeared quickly, and the biggest, most delicious brownie sundae we have ever had- only a picture would describe this sundae. ( My personal favorite was the creme brulee, but it is my favorite dessert.)
Then it was time to go. It's hard to be sad about saying goodbye to friends when you have had such a fantastic goodbye meal. Thanks Cafe Tango for the wonderful hospitality and food, and thanks to the Kitties- it was a fun fall because y'all were part of it.

Sounds wonderful! I know you're sad but I am GLAD the Kitties are coming home!! I miss them!!
The downside to such great food is trying to come up with what to fix for dinner tonight.
