I have not read everything on the site, but if you would like to know about Islam here is the site to go to http://www.al-islam.com/eng/ and I found the part on Al-Jihad very interesting.

The New Testament is God's final instructions to man and that is clearly stated in many places.

Galatians 1:6-8
6I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you by the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel? 7which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ. 8But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned! 9As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let him be eternally condemned!

2 Peter 1:3
3His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. 4Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.

When you read the Bible the trick is to consider who is speaking, who they are speaking to and what are they speaking about. When you look at it logically it is very simple to understand.

The Quran is the work of man not of God.

The Bible was written by inspired men. Over many years & they back each other up. The difference between you & me is I bellieve the Bible is the inspired word of God & you do not. And unless one of us changes looks like we won't agree on this subject.:dunno:

Correct me if I am wrong but I am under the impression that you believe that only your religion's book was written by the inspired...

Anyone who writes a book was inspired, IMHO...

I am fascinated by the mindset that there is a god, only one, he is my god, his word is in a book, there is only one book, your god is wrong and your book is wrong...

You have absolutely no idea WHAT I believe about the Bible.
The point is that EVERY major religious text has been divinely inspired, then written and altered by humans - and many religions* believe theirs is the only correct one.

*not Islam

I disagree, and I think Mango's and Scooter's comments help my argument. I think Gandhi and Teresa would be out there doing good in the world regardless of whether religion existed because that was their calling. Religion is not to blame here, it's the people who warp it into something that it's not that are to blame. If we really want to bring an end to extremism, my suggestion would be to leave religion alone and concentrate on eliminating the things that are the root of the extremist problem - poverty, squalor, and oppressive regimes.

I did not express myself properly, I apologize.I was trying to say Gandi and Mother Teresa would not be eliminated, just religion being their reason for doing good. People do good deeds every day without religion being a factor as you have acknowledged. I agree with leaving religion alone, that is exactly what I asked of religion in the first place. If we all follow the golden rule all religions will co-exist in peace and these problems you mention will be eliminated.

No, I don't KNOW what you believe about the Bible. I just took from your post that you did not believe the Bible was the inspired word of God. Sorry for misspeaking.

I believe that the Bible is the only book that is inspired by God. People are inspired to write books. But this is not the same inspiration.

IMHO when you look at all religions logically none of them make much sense.
Thats where ones faith comes has to come in to play.
