Starting to see a lot of new "State Scenic Highway" signs going up.
Kinda nice to travel all these Scenic Highways every day. They are absolutely scenic.

The signs are a lot easier on the eye also.
I feel blessed to live off of one of these scenic highways!

It's no big deal for us, But For the Vacationers and People Who don't know their way around here.
"Where are the Nice Directional Signs we had or there replacements ?"
It's almost time for all the lost people to come back, give them good signs on where to go and they won't plug up our roads.

How hard is it to navigate an area with two parallel "main" streets and water on both sides? From 98 any turn will take you to 30-A or water ( and vice-versa). Place markers should be sign enough. The tourists are not lost- they are sight seeing! Love the new signs as much as possible for a sign.

I smile every time I see one of the new signs. And I thank Claire and her team for getting it done.
The new signs do have a cool retro design - that and they are low enough that I can see them from a non-convertible car! :roll:
30-A I can understand, but why is 395 a scenic highway?
Not saying it's ugly (well, the power lines are) but we'll run out of money pretty damn fast if a paved road w/ trees and not much else is the determinant criteria we're using.

My understanding that the feeder roads were made scenic to help keep the entry ways to the scenic hwy 30A, as a very nice entrance. The scenic hwy has tighter restrictions on things such as signs. Perhaps higher on the lists of reasons why, is the fact that with scenic designations for these connector roads, more outside money is available to Walton County for sidewalks, bike paths, beautification, etc on these roads designated as scenic.
