Cheap? I paid $22 for a small veggie pizza tonight. Down with tourist trap pizza!

Publix has a sale on their Large Tombstone Garlic Bread Crust Pizzas...2 for $6.00 (1/2 price) Not bad in a pinch if you like thick crust for only $3 -- ends today (Tuesday).

Big Daddy's was a smart buy for Donna. It was well established and a big lunch hit with the Hurlburt crew since it is right next door on 98. At one time she had 3 restaurants going, including Royal Orchid in Miramar Beach, and a place in Gulf Breeze by the bridge.

The owner of Big Daddy's opened a BBQ joint nearby after he sold it to her - not nice. She one upped him by adding more and more Thai food to the menu and has more business than ever.

And a lot of the Hurlburt crew views eating very spicy food as a test of their manliness, (the super-hot wings from Buffalo's Reef are a favorite in that regard) so that place on 98 is a perfect location for that kind of food.

I would love to see Jasmine come to SoWal. They have excellent food. Love their shrimp fried rice dish.

We'll miss Sam and all at Thai Cafe - bye bye. thanks for the pad thai and all the love! you'll be very missed by many locals.
Looks like I'll be stopping by RO more often ;-) Pad Thai!!

Another great choice for Thai food on Sundays in Fort Walton Beach is as follows:

Wat Mongkolratanaram of Fort Walton Beach
741 MAYFLOWER AVENUE
FORT WALTON BEACH, FL 32547
TEL : (904) 863-2906
FAX : (904) 863-1513
Sundays 9 am – 3 pm
Thai Charity Food Court:
Hwy 98 to Beale, Beale to Lewis ( as you near Sam’s Club which is on the west side of Beale…but take a right at Lewis) , take that right turn on Lewis and the venue is 1/2 mile on left drive in (Landmark : WAT Buddhist Temple with flags on flagpole) be sure to*drive into the grounds to the back lot*, otherwise you might not notice where this takes place...lots of parking in rear which is where the access to food booths are This is the best of home cooking by the most accomplished home Thai cooks from our area…just a wonderful experience…we left with bundles of stuff for eating over the next few days…and the prices are really surprisingly low…

Though I didn't get to eat there this year, my friend Niki did, and she said it was as wonderful as last year (when we did get to eat there) - with lots of fire if you want it. Here are some photos from our 2008 lunch

Seriously, if you love Thai food, it's worth a Sunday drive to Fort Walton Beach. And if you don't want to go that far - it seems you guys already know about Jasmine Thai in Destin.

I have them programmed in my phone - if I call them as I am walking to my car at Destin Commons, it is ready by the time I get there!

who doesn't? RO has been on my cell phone since I've owned a cell phone.

the trick to getting a RO delivery is to know someone who travels this way from Destin regularly (from work maybe) - offer to pay for their dinner - so worth it! we won't be driving that way any time soon - that is for sure.
