It's being released all over America tonight at midnight. Many stores are having "Twilight Parties". Are you going to buy the DVD? I know both my daughters will!

 YES!!! But not until next week though... I watched a boot leg copy of it, and want to see a real copy of it. I loved the books - and the movie was ok, but it will pacify my need for vampires.

What is it about vampires that is so appealing. Well, I remember what Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise did for vampires.:clap:

I am a Vamp Tramp. They are sexy. :D I don't watch horror flicks. The previews for A Haunting in Connecticut are freaking me out.

I did not see Twilight or read the books, but someone gave me the soundtrack CD at Christmas, I chuckled, not expecting much, but I was pleasantly surprised. Even MANgo likes it. Not sure when I'll watch the movie-- going out of town.

I suggest reading the book before seeing the movie. I am a big fan of doing that. Books are usually always better than movies...

In the event that someone were to say that s/he doesn't think Stephanie Meyer is such a good writer and that s/he thought the movie was cheesy, would that someone be punished for being a wet blanket on this thread?:ninja:

Not at all! I personally didn't like the movie too much, but loved the books because they were an easy read and let me leave real life for a while. Someone is entitled to his/her opinion on this board. Until we decide you don't need it. :D

Fine--I'll bite!

They WERE easy to read...and I got a kick out of the 4th one.

I got a little bit cracked up a week or so ago reading an article about Stephen King. He reviewed the books a while back and made a comment that she wasn't a very good writer, and all the little teeny-boppers came out with torches and pitchforks, saying that he was just jealous that nobody reads his books.

King can flat-out tell a story, whether it's a horror story or something like Shawshank Redemption or Stand By Me. I've re-read the Harry Potter books, too. But I think I'm over the Twilight books. I never even bought them--I borrowed and returned them. (And I buy everything...)

I never bought either; borrowed only. I love watching movies over & over no matter how cheesy. (Cutting Edge, Rock Star, any movie that is on all weekend on tv...). I have never read any of the Harry Potter books, but love the movies. I have the books, I just couldn't keep everyone straight. I don't have a favorite author either; I just read what catches my eye.
