'Twilight' Are you going to buy the soon to be released DVD?

King is incredible. I have not read the Twilight series, but they are what they are.
Don't think you can compare the two writers.....but that doesn't take anything away from Stephenie Myers. Have seen the movie once and will watch it again when my daughter buys it. I do hate that King made that comment. Not in good taste.

I am a Vamp Tramp. They are sexy. I don't watch horror flicks. The previews for A Haunting in Connecticut are freaking me out.

I did not see Twilight or read the books, but someone gave me the soundtrack CD at Christmas, I chuckled, not expecting much, but I was pleasantly surprised. Even MANgo likes it. Not sure when I'll watch the movie-- going out of town.

I'm a total vamp tramp too. I read all the Twilight books - and found them to be an interesting but very light, shallow kind of read. not much depth at all. but that was what made them appealing to younger people, I guess. haven't seen the movie, but I may eventually. not dying to by any means.

let me be clear though - I did enjoy the books, the story was rather unique, and I felt the writing was very good. but not a story I thought about much after I was done. maybe the vamp story was a relief in its relative simplicity and innocence compared to other books I tend to get hooked on.

give me Ann Rice vamp books any day. I am just sad that I've read every single one, and I'm not one to read a book more than once. Ann Rice books may be my exception - some day.

Bought 'Twilight' today at Walmart:roll: for my daughter's 16th birthday in a week. Got home and couldn't keep it till then, so I gave it to her and said it was an early Birthday present. She's watching it now! Her eyes were twilighting!!!! I might watch it after she goes to bed.

I loved 'Bram Stoker's Dracula' when Dracula Gary Oldman said to Elisabeta, "I have traveled oceans to be with you". And, he journeyed 4 centuries through time to be with her. I think I need to have a Vampire night and rent at least 4 movies.

I watched one True Blood show and was very disappointed. so not what I was expecting. but, lots of friends really enjoy it (like you!), and say I need to watch more to get into it. nah. I kind of like having absolutely not even ONE show on tv or hbo that I watch. not one. just an occasional movie. or occasional Bill Maher. or an occasional Letterman or Craig Ferguson. only if I want to.

I guess I have been left in the "dark" b/c I knew nothing of this series or the movie. (clueless smiley here) Little IBD were at Wal Mart and a worker there was so **excited** about the party they were having that night. I think I burst her bubble when I asked what it was about.

Anywho, We have a red box dvd rental ($1 dvd rental from a machine that looks like a coke machine) close by so I thought for $1 why not try it out. OK, I am hooked. Saw the movie and am halfway through the first book (same as movie) thank goodness today is "do no housework day" so I have been reading. ((THANKS DD!! )) I was excited that there are 4 books in the series so I can do all 4 back to back and not have to wait like I did with the Potter books. They are an easy read, which I prefer, but I actually get so drawn in while reading them.

I dont like super scary things so I think this series will be just fine with me. Certainly not something Audie would like. The scarier the better for her...

Just wait till you get to the second book. You will want to fly through it to the end. I have it on audio and listen when I'm traveling. No one but me likes to listen to it I can't wait for each CD. I just came in from listening while doing some errands. It is on 12 CD's. I am hooked too!

i'll be honest - i hate the first book, almost stopped reading the series after it, same thing over and over blah blah blah. the only reason i moved on to the 2nd one was because i had already bought it and didn't want to feel like i wasted the money - luckily the rest of the books were better

toots, i got so bored with anne rice i had to quit reading them. funny how different people have different tastes huh ?

i hated true blood when it first came out, watched the first episode and thought good god what is this crap ? then there was a marathon on and i watched a few more and decided it wasn't that bad. i ordered the series on dvd so i can see all of them.
