Hollow chocolate rabbits are my favorite! Then Whoppers mini malted milk speckled eggs; and chocolate covered coconut cream eggs. Not too crazy about jelly beans (except black ones), nor do I like hard boiled eggs (except chopped up for egg salad sandwiches in a pinch). But I absolutely, positively abhor PEEPS(!)...goodness how I HATE Peeps!!!

thanks aggieb.. I have that book! its a beautiful story [with one odd, kinda creepy part about the mother crawling into her son's window when he's grown.. that part just makes me pause for just a second. sorry]. I still love the story and even the creepy part because without it, the story might be way too normal and perfect. we all have our moments of doing outrageous things for the ones we love so much. the special thing about your story is your mother/daughter relationship and your mother doing such a loving thing for you. I must do this someday for my son! and I am going to use this exact book!!!!!!! and I am going to tell him that all mothers sneak into their grown sons windows & he needs to just get used to it! ha ha.

easter! it does have many wonderful, springy memories. every year I think back to the big fat easter baskets filled with real dyed eggs, candy and a few special treats - nothing big, all arranged lovingly in the green easter basket grass. and I think about the torture of easter outfit shopping with my mother (and the 4 of us kids), and having to find the perfect dress, white or black patent leather shoes, tights, etc. I do remember a white seersucker bell bottom pant suit when I was about 12. I have a pic somewhere. all of us together in the picture with perfectly combed hair. it was about the only time all year for all of us to look so cleaned up! then church of course, and a great big Italian lunch consisting of lasagna or ravioli - all made by hand by my grandmother and other women in the family.

Easter is still a big family day back home.

and I am a PEEP lover.

LOVE the Whoppers speckled eggs!!! Bought some today. Along with 150.00 worth of other crap for all the g-kids baskets. I only ate one speckled egg. I could have eaten the whole bag. :D

:rotfl:...oh, Toots!!!! I loved it too, but that part was a bit unsettling to me, as well. I went ahead and sent it on to my kids (because it is so sweet). I heard back from sarafunn and she loved it...I may never hear back from Cato Boy...he already thinks I am carazy! This may have sealed the deal and he will be afraid to go to sleep tonight.:D

For the record...my Easter candy addiction is the Hershey's candy coated chocolate eggs. Mr. K has been known to go out to CVS and buy them for me when I am out. YUM!

Peeps are cute to look at, but can't eat 'em.

I love it all, we have Peeps, many, and jelly beans and Reeses Pieces, new tee shirts and spring sweat shirts from Ole Navy at Pier Park for the grandchildren. My oldest thinks this breakfast casserole I make is simply the reason to go to Grannie's for Easter, how could life be any better? Tonight was Palsm Sunday and it was a rather long service but wonderful. Wish my but was smaller and I did not love the vine so much but whatever. I did not edit or spell check! Wish I could be at the April party with you all!

AggieB that it is a great story, so says the teardrops on my desk. (Though when she climbed into her son's house I started to feel like there was punchline coming up.)

It is especially touching to me as yesterday I looked UP at my teenage boy while we were looking at the aisles of Easter candy and said, "I guess all of you are over the Easter basket thing huh?" I was happily surprised to hear him say, "No, of course not, we will never get too old to dye easter eggs and get baskets from the bunny."
I have always loved Easter weekend with my kids and I'm glad to know that they haven't outgrown it yet.
