I've read this thread before and after the "tea party" here in Walton County and I can say one thing for sure. Most of you posting, if any, were certainly not in attendance. SB44, there were petitions present and they will be notarized and sent to Washington D.C. according to those taking the signatures. The rally was as much about our lack of response and representation in the Congress of the United States as anything else. I, for one, am tired of calling a Congressman/woman's office and being treated like I am some irksome burden instead of a tax paying American citizen. I gladly pay my taxes and hope they are being used by our government wisely. But when I see grants for the study of pig odor, as an example, I have a sinking feeling that possibly, just possibly, they are not being used to their best advantage. Deceiver, your comments are so far out that I won't even comment on them. That goes for some of you other posters, too, but you often comment with your heart instead of your head. BTW, I realize I am guilty of that, too. I'll end this this way. If you didn't care enough to go to a "tea party" don't theorize on what occurred at one. The one in Walton County was not as portrayed by the reporter on CNN.
It was a gathering of citizen's concerned about where their country was going. A laudable concern. Many of you may not agree with their positions and while that is your right, it is, as you are well aware, their right to gather in peaceful assembly to voice grievance against their government. And one last thing, it was peaceful, something you cannot say for many protests of the past.
