This is the plate that Lawson proposed then withdrew about a half hour later according to the St. Pete Buzz.

Ahhhh....forget it. I tried to take the above plate into Paint and change the wording along the bottom to "Don't Tase Me Bro" but then I couldn't get it back into the thread. It would have been funny.

Right here!
Personally I'm indifferent, people should have the right to express themselves however they want. If that means putting a tacky Jesus on their license plate, so be it. The separation of church and state though has no bearing on this as that only applies to laws passed by congress.

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

O'Wal
i wonder if you be less likely to be ticketed by law enforcement with the plate, or you would be easier to pick out if you had the plate in the commission of a crime?

Nothing is going to save the poor kid who decides his first car is going to be a Trans Am rather than a Lebaron. Trust me, I speak from experience. :D

I wonder which preacher is getting the proceeds from the sales.

BTW, this is the first depiction I've seen with Jesus sporting blonde hair.

I cannot wait to be cut off in traffic, yelled at while riding my bicycle, or given "the finger" by someone with one of those plates.

I'm still waiting to be able to get a UGA tag in FL....

Other thoughts on the "Vanity" plates:

Exodus 20:4 (#2 of the Ten Commandments) -- "?You shall not make for yourself a carved image?any likeness of anything that is in heaven above..."

Exodus 20:7 (#3 on the list of the Ten Commandments) -- "Do not take the name of the Lord in Vain."

In summary, I think Jesus would be mad if he came back to see what his followers were doing.

Romans Ch 7 vs 4 ( Christ speaking) Christ says that if you are a Christian and believe in "me" that you are dead to the law, meaning any and all laws from the old testament. His new law for us is to treat people like you want to be treated. That's all. So simple it is offensive to some.:D
