A good friend of mine (not the smelly, coffee-drinking person) is having terrible trouble with a stomachache, and thinks it may be gas. Started with nausea--s/he thought that it was the stomach virus coming on so s/he didn't eat anything more than crackers and sprite. Then it just turned into mild nausea with bad stomach pain.

What fixes this? Mylanta didn't help.

More questions that Jdarg shouldn't read, but coming from the voice of experience -

(1) Has s/he been - uh- "regular" since this began? (Not that I expect they would share this with you...)

(2) If so...does s/he have intact female parts? Pain from the reproductive system (in my case, previously undiagnosed severe endo) is often mistaken for intestinal pain, or sometimes one may have both. :sosad: And having nausea wouldn't rule this out.

(3) How's the appendix?

If the ginger, mylanta and Gas-X doesn't help, my advice - sadly - would be a trip to their doctor, or to the ER.

1) Yes. S/he is having no gastrointestinal irregularities

2) In the event that s/he is female, the parts are intact and in working order.

3) Appendix and its silly cousin, the Meckel's Diverticulum, has been gone since 2003.

Isn't it great that we're such good friends? Friend's mother is threatening trip to the ER...grrrr...S/he is not excited about this option, since the pain is nothing like it was when s/he had the false appendicitis/Meckel's Diverticulum. THAT was some serious pain! This is different.

S/he is thinking about a master cleanse...:bang:
