Interesting - some sources are saying that something happened to cause this and she is not going to run for President or anything else - and that the timing of the whole thing is very strange and poorly handled. :dunno:

Either way, she is being criticized for quitting when her constituents need her and when she has only 18 months left in her term.

IMO finishing her term would have still left her with 2 years to campaign, so I don't see why (if that was her goal) she had to quit to do so.

That speech was a hot tranny mess. We've seen all or parts of it a couple times tonight now, and are starting to memorize whether the fridge magnet bit is before or after the bad basketball analogies.

There is just something really thrown together about it all that makes me believe she jumped before she got pushed.

Why did I not expect any less from the majority on this forum? If you had $500,000 in lawyer fees facing you and you had been found not in violation of any of the 15 ethics violations brought against you, would you be slightly, no, greatly PO'd. Some, IMO, have absolutely no conception of what this country should be all about or what we really need. People like Sarah Palin do. Its time some realized what this nation is all about and "started "going forward, but in a different direction". Sarah Palin, whether you agree with her or not, epitomizes a person secure in their convictions and willing to follow them because they are sure they are right. Additionally, I really feel sorry for a lot of citizens in this United States and their attitudes regarding how we are governed, will be governed and have been governed in the past. It is time to change course, not look for "change" that is ill founded and useless.

Still don't know what exactly you are saying. You have demonstrated on this board that you are rich in life experience, strong in character, sound in logic and reason in so many misc areas. So it puzzles me what you see in this person. What direction does she want that you connect with? I agree that she epitomizes someone strong in their convictions who believes they are right. Bush is this way. So is Bin Laden. So is Ahmadinejad. So was Charles Manson. So is our current President. Which attitudes regarding how we are governed do you feel sorry for?

I was going to ignore this thread because of my feelings about Mrs. Palin, but I agree with what you are saying. Something has happened that hasn't hit the news yet. I don't see her as a quitter.

Mr. K broke this news to me yesterday. I told him that if she was the candidate in 2012 and he voted the ticket, there would be consequences. SoWal could become my permanent home. :D

If she is the nominee in 2012, the GOP should just turn out the lights for a decade or so.

i think palin saw a great opportunity for the 2012 election with the sanford and ensign affairs. she is positioning herself to run for president - don't think she was happy with just being governor anymore. i dread having to listen to her blah, blah, blah again. i could barely make it through the recent election, let alone think about listening to her broken, mindless speeches again. if the republicans can't come up with a better candidate than her, good luck.

Seriously. I think a Ouji board placed next to Ronald Reagan's tomb would be a more viable GOP candidate than Palin.

:rotfl:That made me almost spit my coffee this morning. I just don't know if I'm buying all the whispers about a federal indictment looming over her house and the sports complex she had built when she was mayor. Seems lots of reporters and blogger in her state think the story is about to break.
